Why not Erap? : an ambiguous phrase that questions everybody.
Why can't we consider Erap to run for Presidency in 2010 Election since the only thing he wants is the common good for his people? Besides, he has so many supporters who still believe in him and in his advocacy. He is running because he wants to correct the things that went wrong in the past.
Why not give the former president Joseph Estrada another chance to run this coming 2010 election to prove himself that he deserves to serve again the Filipino people. If I were to ask who among the living past and present presidents had given his/her best service to the Philippines, and had provided so much benefits to the Filipinos that would be Joseph Estrada. If we will sum up and compare all the things that they have done for us, only Erap made a big difference!
Regarding the Executive Clemency given by President Gloria Arroyo, the issue tells that by the time Erap accepted the pardon, he can no longer run for presidency again. But according to Atty. Coco Pimentel III, he stressed out that Erap can still run because along with the power vested upon the clemency that gave him his freedom, it was also stated that with his release, his political and civilian rights will be restored. When tackled further, civilian rights includes the right to vote, while political rights give the privilege to run and be voted upon, which concludes that a promise sworn in exchange for freedom won't hold him back from running in 2010.
